Celebrating 10 Years of Breezy: A Look Back at Our Journey
This week, we celebrated a huge milestone: BreezyBilling's 10th birthday! Our team, friends, and partners gathered at a local tavern to toast a decade of growth, teamwork, and meaningful relationships. It was a night filled with laughter, memories, and heartfelt gratitude for everyone who has been part of our story.
Paul and Jim both took a moment to reflect on how Breezy began and how far we've come. From the early days of BreezyNotes to the full-service billing and RCM company BreezyBilling is today, their speeches reminded us that every step of this journey has been driven by one goal: making it easier for behavioral health professionals to do what they do best — help people.
Our Roots
BreezyBilling started with a simple dream: to make it easier for behavioral health clinic owners and administrators to run their practices. Founded in 2015 by James Jonas, LICSW, LMFT, and his son, Paul Jonas, Breezy began as a software company called BreezyNotes, built right here in Minnesota.
James brought decades of experience as a therapist, business owner, and administrator, while Paul brought his expertise in communications, marketing, and technology. Together, they saw a need for efficient, human-centered practice management tools built specifically for behavioral health professionals.
After launching BreezyNotes, they quickly realized that billing and revenue cycle management were also major pain points for clinics. In 2016, they expanded into billing and RCM services, and by 2017, BreezyBilling officially launched.
Since then, Breezy has continued to grow in both size and purpose. The company emphasizes a relationship-based approach where customers know who to contact, receive regular one-on-one meetings, and gain insights to sustain thriving practices.
Thank You
As we celebrate 10 years, we're filled with gratitude for our amazing team, our loyal customers, and the incredible behavioral health community that has supported our mission.
To mark the milestone, we launched a "10 Acts of Kindness" campaign, inviting the community to submit ideas for charitable acts that Paul would complete in honor of the anniversary.
Here's to the next decade of helping behavioral health practices thrive — together.
